exchange vows in Oak Harbor
St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor provided the setting for the May 23 wedding of Cheryl Marie Johnson-Mackey and Jim Wing. Pastor Cheryl Wessel officiated at the 4:30 p.m. ceremony. Organist was Georganna Risch.
The bride is the daughter of the late Jack and Eleanor Johnson of Clyde. Parents of the bridegroom are Cliff and Joan Wing of Clyde.
The bride, who was given in marriage by Robert L. Mackey, wore a full-length, white silk strapless gown with an empire waist.
She carried a bouquet of various shades of blue and white of corn flowers, iris, roses, lily of the valley trimmed with blue, created by her daughter, Lynda Mackey.
Lynda Marie Mackey, Oak Harbor, daughter of the bride, was the maid of honor. She wore a full-length, teal blue gown with empire waist and pleated skirt.
Niki Foster, Clyde, daughter of the groom, served as a bridesmaid. She wore a full-length, royal blue gown with empire waist and pleated skirt.
The best man was Deric Wing, Clyde, son of the groom. Robert Mackey, Oak Harbor, son of the bride, served as groomsman.
A reception was held at the groom's home in Clyde at Jim's annual Memorial Day BBQ on Sunday, May 24, with 125 guests.
The couple hosted a rehearsal dinner on Friday, May 22 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor with an Italian meal prepared by the bride.
The couple will reside in Oak Harbor.
The bride is a 1977 graduate of Clyde High School and is an office manager for D.T. Beaston Construction & Classic Kitchen & Bath in Fremont and is secretary of the Sandusky County Builder's Association.
The bridegroom is a 1977 graduate of Clyde High School and is a route manager for Namco Cybertainment.
The bride was given a surprise bridal shower on May 17 by Diana Keegan, sister of the bride, and Cindy Cullen, sister of the groom.
