Circus comes to town
for two Aug. 1 shows
The Kelly Miller Circus, founded during the Depression, is celebrating its 72nd year in 2010 and making a stop in Clyde on Sunday, Aug. 1.
There will be two performances at 2 and 5 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles lot on South Main Street.
The tent raising itself is a free show that will take place at 9 a.m. Sunday and the public is invited.
The afternoon shows will include elephants, horses and circus stars under the big top.
The event is a fundraiser for the new Clyde Lions Club.
The circus was founded in 1938 by Obert Miller and his sons Kelly and Dores, the traditional tented circus has seen the passing of over half of a century and still offers the same family entertainment it presented in its humble beginnings, according to a press release.
Tickets are on sale in the community and will be sold on the day of the performances.
