* GEM CRYSTAL SINGING BOWLS Kathleen Calby will share the music of the gem crystal and Tibetan singing bowls at the Oberlin Public Library on July 17 at 6 p.m.

* SUMMER CONCERT SERIES The Colin Dussault Acoustic Trio will perform classic rock on Saturday, July 17, from 2-4 p.m. on the front lawn of the New Union Center for the Arts, 39 S. Main St. Free. Bring lawnchairs and blankets for seating.

* ANNUAL SENIOR CENTER PICNIC will be held on Thursday, July 15 at the New Russia Township picnic pavilion on Butternut Ridge Road at noon. Bring a picnic dish to share with others. Table service will be provided as well as the main dish and drinks.

* NITE OUT GANG through Oberlin Seniors will eat dinner at the Mandarin Restaurant on South Main Street in Oberlin on Friday, July 23 at 5 p.m., followed by a concert by Walkin' Cane and Kristine Jackson from 7-9 p.m. in Tappan Square. All are welcome; bring a lawnchair for the concert.

* WOMEN'S BREAKFAST through Oberlin Seniors is Thursday, July 29 at 9 a.m. at the Oberlin Inn. All welcome.

* RUST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH Sundays: Free community breakfast at 9 a.m., church school for all ages 9:30 a.m., Sunday worship at 11 a.m. Sparrow Bible Study: Wednesday at 7 p.m., 133 Smith St. Saturday: Gospel Choir practice 12:30 p.m.

* HOT MEALS at Christ Episcopal Church, 162 S. Main St. Monday through Friday. Doors open at 4 p.m. Meals are served from 5:15 to 5:45 p.m. Free to all. No proof of need required; no questions asked.

* CROSSROADS BAPTIST CHURCH 12404 Rt. 58. Bible Study Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. followed by worship and service at 11 p.m. Wednesday night services are 7-9 p.m. New members are welcome.

Professor St.) A fun social and learning opportunity for preschoolers and interested others to gather at the one-room, pioneer-era 1836 Oberlin Schoolhouse and enjoy a mix of games and stories based on the theme "What Life Was Like in the Past."
